Jack in the Box Inc. Promotes Two to Vice President
SAN DIEGO – Jack in the Box Inc. (NYSE: JBX) today announced the promotions of Mark H. Blankenship, Ph.D., to corporate vice president of human resources and Carl R. Nank to corporate vice president of purchasing and distribution.
As corporate vice president of human resources, Blankenship, 44, will oversee the company’s training and development, field human resources and operational services departments. Prior to his promotion, he was division vice president of training and development and field human resources. Before joining Jack in the Box in 1997, Blankenship was vice president of human resources for Mitchell International, a San Diego-based company that provides information products, software and e-business solutions to the insurance industry. Blankenship has a doctorate and a master’s degree in industrial organizational psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University in Sacramento.
As corporate vice president of purchasing and distribution, Nank, 42, will be responsible for the purchasing, distribution and logistical functions for the company’s 2,020 Jack in the Box® restaurants. Nank began his career with Jack in the Box 10 years ago as an area manager in the chain’s North Texas region. In 1998, he transferred to corporate headquarters to direct facility and support services. Since 2000, he has served as division vice president of operational services. Prior to joining the company, Nank was district manager for Pilot Oil Corp. He earned an MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He also served in the army for five years, attaining the rank of captain.
