Jack in the Box Restaurants Now Accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 2004--Jack in the Box Inc. (NYSE:JBX) today announced that it now accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover in all 1,553 of its company-owned Jack in the Box(R) restaurants and in many of its 435 franchised locations. In December 2003, Jack in the Box completed an upgrade to its POS (point of sale) system to take Visa and MasterCard, and beginning this week, customers can pay with Discover card as well.
With approximately 90 percent of Jack in the Box systemwide restaurants accepting plastic, the chain has found credit and debit card transactions to be beneficial for customers and the company. Guests enjoy the convenience of having several payment options, while research shows that purchases made with cards are usually higher than those made with cash.
