Jack in the Box(R) Adds Tropical Flavor to Line of Real Fruit Smoothies

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr. 27, 2009-- If you’re thinking about trading in an exotic vacation for a home-bound “staycation” to save a few bucks, then Jack in the Box® has just the thing to liven up your spring break – the new Tropical Smoothie, a great way to get a taste of the tropics without the pricey airfare.

Jack’s new Tropical Smoothie, which is made from a blend of banana and mango Minute Maid® fruit juices and purees blended with nonfat frozen yogurt, joins the restaurant chain’s line of Real Fruit Smoothies that includes Mango, Pomegranate Berry and Strawberry Banana.

“Guest response to our smoothies has been tremendous and we’re excited about adding another new flavor to the line,” said Teka O’Rourke, director of menu marketing and promotions for Jack in the Box Inc. “The Tropical Smoothie is a tasty, refreshing treat for the warmer spring and summer months.”

The Tropical Smoothie is available in 16- and 24-ounce servings for the suggested prices, excluding tax, of $2.99 and $3.99, respectively, at all participating Jack in the Box restaurants.
