Jack in the Box(R) Restaurants Honor Top-Performing Franchisees

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2006--As Jack in the Box Inc. (NYSE:JBX) pursues its goal to become a national restaurant company, franchising has taken center stage in the company's growth plans. Though most Jack in the Box(R) restaurants remain company owned, the chain has increased its percentage of franchise-owned restaurants to more than 29 percent of the Jack in the Box system, and plans to be 35 percent franchise operated by 2008.

To recognize the dedication and hard work of its growing franchise community, Jack in the Box honored the cream of its franchisee crop at the company's annual franchise performance awards ceremony, held last week at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine in San Diego. Awards were presented to franchisees that excelled in five categories: sales volume; percentage sales increase; food safety; quality, food safety and cleanliness (QFC); and Voice of the Customer (VOC) performance. VOC is a consumer-research tool through which randomly selected guests can rate their Jack in the Box dining experience. The following franchisees went home with the gold:
